WR Academy: SCCA Licensing School In Atlanta November 19-20

Winding Road Academy partners Level Up Racing Schools and ATL Speedwerks will be holding a road racing school on November 19-20, 2018 at Atlanta Motorsports Park. This 2-day school is about the quickest way to get your SCCA wheel-wheel racing license, though the school is by no means limited to novices. SCCA’s New Bracket Enduro Format Could Level the Playing Field

The SCCA has announced a rather interesting new Bracket Enduro racing format. Set to run on a limited basis in 2015 with a more substantial rollout for the 2016, it’s been designed to offer a less restrictive set of rules for both drivers and cars, along with a unique scoring system that’s intended to make the format more accessible, and more fun, for newcomers and experienced teams alike.

Under Construction: SCCA ProSolo Champion Autocross Porsche

This car, born as a Porsche Boxster, is now running a 2003 2.7 liter with ported heads, beehive valve springs, custom cams and 12.5 compression ratio. With Troy Acosta at the wheel, it won the 2014 SCCA Pro Solo R2 Championship. Winding Road Racing is now updating the roll cage and revising the seat mounting. Greater safety with lower weight is the goal.

SCCA Announces Changes to SM Class Modification Rules

In the wake of the 2014 SCCA Spec Miata Runoffs debacle on October 10th at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in which the first six cars to finish the race were found to be out of compliance during post-race inspections, the SCCA has posted a memorandum outlining changes to class rules in order to address what has clearly become a widespread issue in SM racing.
