Rumor: Subaru WRX Wagon Caught Testing

After a stint behind the wheel of the new WRX late last year, we were properly enamored with the new Subie – expect for the notable lack of a 5-door variant. At the time, Subaru told us that development costs forced them to choose between one body style or the other, and the sedan prevailed. To us, the availability of the wagon configuration of the WRX was one of the car’s strongest assets, and its absence hasn’t gone unnoticed by enthusiasts either, many of which cried foul upon discovering that the fast hauler wasn’t in the cards for 2015. But we had a strong suspicion that a wagon layout of the new WRX would eventually find its way into showrooms sooner or later, and as Automobile’s spy photographers appear to have uncovered, it looks like our hunch was on the money.

Rumor: Near-Production 2016 Acura NSX Spotted at Nurburgring, Appears To Require More Testing

Production time frames for the introduction of the new Acura NSX have been vague, but rumors had been circulating earlier this year that a production-based test mule might was expected to make an appearance at Goodwood last month, but those speculations never became a reality. This week, spy photographers at Nurburgring caught a glimpse of an NSX prototype lapping the ‘Ring in what appeared to be near-production form, reigniting hopes that the hybrid supercar might soon break cover. Unfortunately, events seen today at the track seem to indicate that the NSX might not be quite ready for primetime just yet.

Rumors: Spy Shots—2013 Range Rover Spotted

Land Rover’s flagship model, the Range Rover, was recently snapped by Autoblog spy photographers during a winter testing session. Styling for the luxury SUV appears to retain flavors from the current generation, while mixing in slight changes like a gently sloping roofline. Underneath the skin, it will reportedly utilize the same chassis as the Jaguar XJ. Several of the spy shots catch a glimpse of the test car’s interior and, at least for now, it doesn’t appear that major changes have been made.

New spy shots courtesy of Carscoop show that a new 911 Turbo will be arriving hot on the heels of Porsche’s unveiling of the new 991 series. The new Turbo will feature a 3.8-liter flat-six pushing north of 500 horsepower through the car’s all-wheel-drive system, and drivers will likely be able to choose between the dual clutch seven-speed PDK gearbox, or Porsche’s new seven-speed manual transmission.

Rumors: Spy Shots—Mercedes-Benz BLS

The upcoming BLS, aimed at Audi’s A3 sedan, was recently snapped and scooped by Auto Express while doing some cold weather testing. While the heavy camouflage obscures visual details, we do know that power should be supplied by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine or, in true European form, a 1.8-liter diesel engine.
