Lamborghini has debuted a new version of the Gallardo, the LP570-4 Squadra Corse. Based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo racecar, the Squadra Corse is named for Lamborghini’s new motorsports department.
The exterior is, um, intense? To be entirely honest, we can’t make heads or tails of it. You’re better off just going into the gallery and taking a look for yourself. Suffice it to say, Lamborghini, which has been building aircraft-inspired cars for some time may have officially jumped the shark and built a full-on fighter jet.
Lamborghini has built a hardtop Aventador and a two-seat Aventador Roadster. The next logical step is to start building special editions of either body style. This particular Lambo, uncovered by Carscoop, is more than just another special edition—it’s Lamborghini’s birthday present to itself, for spending 50 years building radical supercars.
Do you like V12 supercars? Do you like comparison tests? Do you like excellent videos?
Caught by the spy photographers over at Autoblog, this pre-production XL1 prototype was snapped during some winter testing.
So, why is this Lamborghini Gallardo sliding around on a wet, muddy rally stage? We have no idea, but it’s a whole lot of fun. Sort of like Sliders made from Kobe beef, it’s something that shouldn’t be together, but is actually brilliant. The best new is that this is just the first of a three-video series. We’ll be sure to post the new vids when they become avaialble. Enjoy!
Take a good, hard look at the Lamborghini Veneno. You’ll probably never, ever see one in person. Why? Lamborghini is only planning on building three, and with a price tag of $4.6 million per car, it’s very unlikely that the Veneno owner’s club will be at your next Cars And Coffee.
Wonder what it’s like to go 200 miles per hour with the top down? You can do it in the 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster. No, we haven’t had a crack at it yet, but the fellas over at Car And Driver were lucky enough to get behind the wheel, and kind enough to share the experience with readers.
Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, recently told Automotive News that the company will be releasing a new car in 2013 to celebrate the Raging Bull’s fiftieth birthday.
Color us a bit surprised by this tasty little rumor—Lamborghini is apparently bringing a four-door GT version of its Aventador supercar to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. At this point it’s all hearsay, but sources close to CAR Magazine are reporting that the company is seriously considering this option.
The Lamborghini Gallardo has been a highly successful model for the Italian brand. Part of that success is largely due to the amount of work that’s been done to keep it fresh, with subtle tweaks and new editions every few years. The 2012 Paris Motor Show is just another example of Lambo’s attempts to keep its most-affordable car young.
It’s been a long time since Lamborghini’s last SUV, the LM002, but if the Urus Concept is any indication, it looks to have been time well spent. If (when) Lamborghini puts the Urus in to production, it’ll be packing 600 horsepower, which will be sent to all four wheels via a permanent four-wheel-drive system.
Audi has reportedly inked a deal with Ducati that gives it exclusive first dibs on the purchase of the storied Italian motorcycle manufacturer.
Day one of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show is pretty much over. There was quite a bit of new and exciting sheemetal crossing the stages today, and we made sure to cover as much as we could. This is your spot if you happened to miss any of today’s Swiss stories. We’ll be updating this list as more cars are debuted on day two. Also, look for a finalized version of this list soon.
Apparently the rumors have been quickly confirmed. The Lamborghini Aventador J exists, is headed for a Geneva debut, and will then be put up for sale. There’s just one caveat: Lamborghini is only building the one.
Imagine you’re 15 years old again and you catch a glimpse of the Lamborghini Aventador for the first time—It would have the same life changing impact as, well, an adult seeing the car for the first time, actually.
We’ve been aching to see the Nissan Juke-R, Godzilla’s maniacal, crossover cousin in action for quite a while, and now that footage has arrived. This is the Juke-R, battling a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, and a Lamborghini Gallardo on the streets of Dubai.
Recently published photos on Supercarteam.blogspot, taken from the Italian magazine Quattroroute, show what seem to be an all-new Lamborghini SUV. The styling looks like a cross between Lamborghini’s own Aventador, the Maserati Kubang, and Audi’s Q5. It is reported that if put into production, we could see the vehicle arrive in 2015, and that Lamborghini will be bringing this surprising concept to the Beijing Auto Show.
There was more to the LP550-2 Spyder than taking a very large can opener to a Balboni though. A convertible changes vehicle dynamics dramatically, so Lamborghini was forced to retune the dampers, tweak the aerodynamics, and revise the electronic stability control.
For most people, the Lamborghini Gallardo, in its various iterations, is quite extreme. V-10 power and all-wheel drive make for a rather exciting supercar. There are anomalies among these people though, who don’t think the standard version is quite enough. So for them, the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale might be a better vehicle choice.
Lamborghini has officially given the go-ahead to the Sesto Elemento, the stunning concept car that debuted at last year’s Paris Motor Show. Packing a 570 horsepower V-10 into a body that only weighs 2202 pounds blesses the Lambo with a power-to-weight ratio of only 3.85 pounds-per-horsepower. That means exceptional performance, with 62 miles per hour coming on in 2.5 seconds.
