Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, recently told Automotive News that the company will be releasing a new car in 2013 to celebrate the Raging Bull’s fiftieth birthday. Lamborghini is playing this one close to the chest and not revealing much in the way of details about the new car. “It will not be a revival or retro,” Winkelmann said. We do know that whatever Lamborghini creates will be a one-off design and built specially to commemorate the anniversary.
Speculation abounds as to what the car could be, including a production version of the gorgeous Sesto Elemento concept that was originally shown at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. However, seeing as Lamborghini has already created some 20 track-only examples of the Sesto Elemento, it is probable the company will head in another direction.
In anticipation of Lamborghini unveiling something properly, world shatteringly epic, we are wishing them Happy Birthday in advance.
