As predicted, today Jaguar announced the F-Type Coupe. However, what wasn’t predicted was the new R variant they also introduced, and what an absolute monster it appears to be.
Citing its style, performance, value, and overall footprint, Motor Authority has awarded the all-new CLA45 AMG Best Performance/Luxury Car To Buy 2014. However, despite the CLA45’s fantastic driving dynamics, all-wheel drive usability and sedan practicality, Mercedes-Benz will not enjoy the award exclusively.
Jaguar has revealed its first crossover concept with the C-X17 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The sports crossover design study features a strong, lightweight aluminum unibody architecture, and previews a new range of Jaguar models.
In one sense, the new Jaguar F-Type is a simple car to discuss. It is dynamically very good, though it has a particular character, like any well-done car. It looks beautiful, which you can probably glean from photos, and this fortunately turns out to be a judgment that holds up upon seeing the car in the aluminum and leather. It is comfortable and usable in daily driving, although it has rather strict cargo limitations. And it is expensive, although there is a reasoned argument that the F-Type is priced below its likely competitors.
Jaguar has pulled the wraps off its newest concept car, which it is calling Project 7. The aluminum-bodied, single-seat roadster is based on the 2014 F-Type, and is named in honor of Jaguar’s seven wins at Le Mans.
Calling it “frankly insane” and claiming “I don’t know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it’s their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest,” Jaguar Land Rover’s Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region, David Blackhall, shot down all speculation that the Indo-British brand would be joining Ford, Holden, Mercedes-Benz AMG, Nissan, and Volvo in the Australian V8 Supercars series.
Jaguar Heritage Racing will participate in the 2013 Mille Miglia classic car tour from May 16 to 19, and has brought us this video to help get us excited for the team’s entry in the event.
Jaguar’s XF is a dark horse. In a segment where deciding on a car generally means deciding which color of gray your Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz will be, the XF is quietly confident sitting in the background. It’s almost certainly the best looking car in its segment, and its interior is a delightful departure from the black, aluminum, and modernist interiors of the competition. The material choices are warm and inviting, and most everything feels good to the touch.

Jaguar is stepping up to the plate when it comes to high-powered luxury sedans, with an R version of its flagship XJ. Packing the same 550-horsepower, 5.0-liter, supercharged V-8 found in the XFR-S and XKR-S, the new XJR will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and Audi S8
Powered by a 5.0-liter, supercharged V-8, the XFR-S, like the XKR-S, delivers 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. It’ll scamper to 60 in 4.4 seconds before topping out at a limited 186 miles per hour. It’s also the most powerful sedan Jaguar’s ever produced. Despite this lunacy, it’ll net 23 miles per gallon on the highway, and isn’t penalized with a gas guzzler tax. The transmission, unlike the XKR-S, though, is an eight-speed Quickshift transmission from ZF.
There’s no shortage of love for Jaguar’s stunning XK (and its various iterations) among the Winding Road office staff. Heart-stopping style and sumptuous luxury combine with a variety of 5.0-liter V-8 engines to create an excellent GT car. Still, even the 550-horsepower XKR-S is more GT than true sports car. If you are one of those lamenting this fact, then Jaguar has answered your prayers.
We show you some of the finer details of the 2012 Jaguar XJL Portfolio. For the best listening experience, we recommend wearing headphones for the POV test drive.
Back in February, we posted in the Rumors section that Jaguar was reportedly working on a hotter version of its already mighty XFR sedan. Now, we have virtually definitive proof that the rumors were true thanks to new photos from the spy photographers over at autoevolution.
The Jaguar XKR-S represents a kind of supercar that is, at once, both strange to conceive and utterly approachable. That is has legitimate supercar credentials is undeniable: massively fast, quick off the line, spectacular handling both on a track and on the road, gut-churningly beautiful to behold, and significantly more rare than even other fast Jags. And yet, there’s nothing intimidating about the driving experience, unless you happen to be scared off by loud internal combustion engines (in which case this isn’t the article for you, anyway).
The Jaguar XF Supercharged manages to strike a prime balance between sports and luxury, in the same way that its Germanic rivals have been doing for decades. The major difference is that it comes with a heaping helping of supercharger to speed affairs along. With a price that, once options are added, will likely undercut the competitors, and the aforementioned power and poise, the Jaguar XF Supercharged would be a hard car for us to turn away.
As a preview to its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar has unveiled its five-door XF Sportbrake.
According to Autocar, Jaguar is “seriously considering” the idea of creating an XFR-S, a hotter version of its already hot XFR sedan. This bold move would directly take on Jaguar’s competition from Germany—cars like the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, already well-established super sedans.
