First Look: 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive

Being a Mercedes-Benz supercar, it’s no surprise that this thing is fast. 62 miles per hour comes up in a scant 3.9 seconds, thanks to the 740 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque generated by the four electric motors. Each motor weighs in at just under 100 pounds (99.21 to be exact), and can spin to 13,000 rpm. An axially arranged transmission allows each wheel to be driven selectively by the four motors.

First Look: 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series

Mercedes-Benz debuted the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe Black Series, a special edition that the company is calling its fastest C-Class ever. Its 6.2-liter V-8 engine boasts 510 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque, up 59 horsepower and 14 pound-feet over the current C63 AMG. Capable of 0-60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds, the Black Series borrows some technology and components from the SLS AMG.
