Preview: 2015 Lexus RC F

Back in November at the Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus unveiled the production-ready RC Coupe. While the RC Coupe certainly looked the business, with a choice of either a 314 hp V6 or a 2.5-liter Lexus Hybrid Drive system, RC and IS chief engineer Junichi Furuyama stated at the time that the RC Coupe was designed to ”deliver extra response that exhilarates rather than overwhelms drivers”. At the time, we took that as an indication that this new coupe might end up being a lot more show than go. Fortunately, it turns out that the overwhelming level of performance was being reserved for another variant of the new coupe: the RC F.

Already into its third year of production, the sixth generation 3-Series remains the benchmark by which all other sport sedans are measured. Rimac Concept One Is An All Electric World Beater

Sporting four electric motors with a combined output of 1000 horsepower, a top speed of 190mph and a range of 150 miles, the Croatia based EV startup responsible for this gas-free super sports car also holds the record for the fastest accelerating EV in the world – a converted 1984 BMW E30 which served as a test mule for the Concept One. And Rimac says the Concept One is ready for production today.

BMW M Division Gets Serious With Race Focused M235i

Starting in 2014, would-be private BMW race teams can dial up BMW M Performance and order themselves a competition-ready 2 series coupe, dubbed the M235i Racing. The spiritual successor to the BMW M3 GT4, the new entry-level racer “meets all the basic requirements of a successful entry-level racing car”, says BMW.

Driven: 2014 Jaguar F-Type

In one sense, the new Jaguar F-Type is a simple car to discuss. It is dynamically very good, though it has a particular character, like any well-done car. It looks beautiful, which you can probably glean from photos, and this fortunately turns out to be a judgment that holds up upon seeing the car in the aluminum and leather. It is comfortable and usable in daily driving, although it has rather strict cargo limitations. And it is expensive, although there is a reasoned argument that the F-Type is priced below its likely competitors.
