Ride onboard with SCCA Solo II Champion Danny Popp as he takes us around the autocross at the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational at Michigan International Speedway.

Danny holds class records at various tracks across the country and has captured more championships than most mantles are equipped to handle. He also managed to make wrangling this 680+ horsepower fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro around the course look like child’s play.

Modifications to the Camaro are as follows:
  • Lingenfelter 427ci Crate Engine
  • Tremec 6060 transmission with ZR1 gear ratios
  • Quartermaster dual disc 7.5” clutch
  • Lingenfelter 9.5” rear axle, 4.10 ratio
  • BeCool radiator
  • Ridetech Stage 3 Suspension upgrade, including triple adjustable coil-over shocks
  • Baer 6 piston brakes, with 14” rotors on all 4 corners
  • Forgeline 20X10 Wheels
  • Continental 295/35ZR20 Contisport Contact Tires
  • Updated front and rear fascia’s from 2014 Camaro
  • Lingenfelter extractor hood, rockers, rear spoiler
  • Akzo Nobel custom mix blue paint, with inlaid white stripes
  • Sparco racing seats
  • Sparco racing harnesses
  • Six-point roll bar
Let’s see what it’s like from the cockpit:
