Racing Helmet Communications and Hydration: Black Armor Helmets

Driver Gear, Reviews I By Luciana D'Andretta I March 31, 2017

In this week’s product review spotlight, we discuss the new Black Armor Gladiator helmet. This SA2015 carbon fiber helmet is a based off the bestselling Black Armor Circuit Pro and is a great solution for racers who want helmet communications and hydration.

Retailing at $799, the Gladiator Helmet includes:

  • Built-in communication port, including a 5-pin connecter for adapter cables (IMSA or NASCAR), earbud jack and Panasonic speakers installed inside the helmet
  • Built-in quick release hydration system, along with a bite valve
  • Six replaceable helmet pads (different size cheek pads available)
  • Sun visor
  • Top forced air kit optional

For racers looking for communications and hydration options on a helmet with a lower price point, we recommend the Black Armor Helmets Circuit Pro Composite (retailing at $399.99). Adding to the convenient customization that the Circuit Pro Composite already allows, racers can now add Black Armor Modular Pods (ModPods for short) to their helmet and can be configured any way they want. Add wired communications, a drink tube or Bluetooth module to your helmet, starting at $75.00. These ModPods can be added to any of the Black Armor Circuit Pro or Aero Pro models and sizes.

Find the Black Armor Gladiator helmet, Black Armor ModPods and the Black Armor Circuit Pro Composite helmet (sold exclusively by Winding Road Racing) at any of our four retail locations in Austin, Southern California, Bowling Green and at our newest store at Thunderhill Raceway. Or shop our Black Armor helmets and our entire selection of racing helmets online at WindingRoadRacing.com. For more options check out our 10 best racing helmets guide.
