The organizers of the US Grand Prix have revealed the design of the circuit to be built near Austin, Texas. Created by track designer Hermann Tilke and Full Throttle Productions, the 3.4-mile track has 20 turns and 130 feet of elevation change.
Running counterclockwise, many of the circuit’s turns are inspired by other courses around the world, including Silverstone, Hockenheim, and Istanbul. The course was designed so that fans could see large parts of it from anywhere along the track.
The first US Grand Prix at the Austin circuit is scheduled for the 2012 race season.
