2015 Ford Mustang Images Leaked in Autoweek

News I By Bradley Iger I December 03, 2013

While the hotly anticipated reveal of the new 2015 Ford Mustang is scheduled for Thursday, December 5th, it appears some Auto Week readers got their issues a bit early, and the cover story has spilled the beans about the new pony car. These are not renderings, folks – what you’re seeing is the real deal.

First seen on the forums at SVTPerformance.com, the article offers up far more concrete details than we’ve seen previously. From an aesthetic standpoint, the new Mustang is clearly evolutionary rather than revolutionary, perhaps in light of the fact that the coupe will now be sold in global markets. Inside, the Mustang’s interior sees a significant update with an even more well-rounded juxtaposition between retro style and modern amenities.

As many had speculated, the new Mustang finally ditches the antiquated live rear axle in favor a fully independent setup. The magazine also mentions that the standard GT model equipped with the performance package will outperform the outgoing Boss 302. Standard push-button start, optional adaptive cruise control, and significant weight reduction are all in the cards as well. Interestingly, the new model retains the 107.1 inch wheelbase of the outgoing model.

If these grainy magazine screenshots aren’t enough, don’t fret – we’ll have plenty of additional coverage of the 2015 Ford Mustang when it’s official unveiled on Thursday.
