Back in February, we posted in the Rumors section that Jaguar was reportedly working on a hotter version of its already mighty XFR sedan. Now, we have virtually definitive proof that the rumors were true thanks to new photos from the spy photographers over at autoevolution.
According to Autocar, Jaguar is “seriously considering” the idea of creating an XFR-S, a hotter version of its already hot XFR sedan. This bold move would directly take on Jaguar’s competition from Germany—cars like the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, already well-established super sedans.
Think of performance sedans, and one name pops right to the forefront: the BMW M5. Originally launched in 1985, the M5 has been the benchmark for ultimate four-door performance. Over the past few years, though, the competition has become more intense, with new entries from Jaguar and Cadillac, and an stalwarts like the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Thankfully for Bimmerphiles everywhere, though, a new M5 has arrived for 2012.
