In a colorful and creative display of support, Hyundai has brought the spirit of Busan, South Korea, to the streets of New York City during the UN General Assembly High-level Week 2023. As part of their commitment to support Busan’s bid for the 2030 World Expo, the Group has unveiled a fleet of stunning art cars that have been making waves in the Big Apple.

The art cars are rolling canvases, adorned with graffiti designs inspired by Busan’s vibrant culture and icons. The artist behind these eye-catching creations is renowned Korean artist ‘JAY FLOW.’ His work on Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 all-electric models, along with Genesis luxury brand’s Electrified G80 sedan, encapsulates the essence of Busan with striking visuals and the slogan ‘BUSAN is Ready.’

The timing of this exhibition couldn’t be more perfect, as it coincides with the UN General Assembly High-level Week. From September 17 to 22, these art cars can be seen not only at the Genesis House New York, situated in the Meatpacking District, but also at iconic New York landmarks, including Times Square.

The art cars are on a mission to tell the world about Busan’s bid for the 2030 World Expo. As they traverse the bustling streets of New York City, they provide a glimpse into Busan’s rich culture, its forward-thinking approach, and its readiness to host a world-class event.

Hyundai’s support for Busan’s bid goes beyond the streets of New York. The Group has been actively promoting Busan on a global scale, deploying art cars in major cities worldwide, and participating in bid support activities at international events. Notably, the emphasis has been on Busan’s commitment to hosting a carbon-neutral expo with eco-friendly transportation for Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) delegations.

This recent endeavor builds upon the success of previous art car unveilings in Jakarta, Indonesia, during the ASEAN Summit, and in New Delhi, India, during G20-related events. These exhibitions garnered significant international attention and acclaim, bolstering support for Busan’s ambitious bid.
