Lamborghini In The Snow: Our Spy Shooter Takes The Day Off With The Murciélago Roadster

Features I By Seyth Miersma I March 17, 2010

Though we usually hear from him when camped out next to the Nürburgring in Germany, with various long-lenses at the ready, it seems that our trusty spy photographer Andreas had a bit of a vacation recently. The lucky photog sent us this cheerful set of photos today, telling us that he had recently spent a fun week driving this snow tire-equipped Lamborghini Murciélago in his home Sweden (at least that’s where we think he is).

No doubt ebullient from his recent tail-out adventuring, Andreas has cheerfully sent along the following, rather dreamlike, narrative, along with a set of snowy Lambo photos for good measure. Read on below for the details of the spy shooter’s day out.

There you are, sitting in the couch—a moment you have been waiting for the whole day. The latest issue of your favorite car magazine and a nice cup of coffee. This magazine was long waited for, with a special about your dream car, the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster.

You said it again, Lamborghini Murciélago….mmm…what a car.

If it weren’t for the fact that you were out of milk for your coffee, you would have been in the couch a long time ago, but the trip to the supermarket took, much longer then expected.

It didn’t take long before you dreamed yourself away in the article, dreaming that it was you behind that steering wheel, closing the door and firing up the motor. And what a motor. The sound of that wonderful V-12 was like music to your ears, you press the throttle some three or four times just to rev up the engine before you let first gear in and carefully drive away. The winter tires have some problems finding grip so you take it easy from the start. You don’t want to give too much throttle, and start to really play, until the oil and the engine have reached the right temperatures, anyway.

Second, third, and fourth gear just slip in. Winter driving experience helps you to correct the small slides, and after all, a little snow and ice on the roads just makes the trip more fun and exciting.

After a while, the oil temperature is right and you can start to rev up the machine a lot more. You let the wide tires lose grip more and more, and enjoy some lovely power slides. The excellent four-wheel drive makes it very easy to control, and the car explodes out of every corner like a cannonball.

You’re sliding and having fun for several hours until you call it a day. What a pleasure to drive this wonderful machine in the winter, you really don’t understand those people that put away their Murciélago because of the snow; it’s just a perfect car for the winter, especially on a sunny day like this.

Suddenly you wake up, noticing that you fell asleep for a while. You sip some of your coffee, ugh, it’s cold and tastes like crap. You get up and poured it away. It’s already late and time to make some dinner, but first you want to make sure that you switched off the light in the garage.

The light was turned off, but you switched it on again, to look at the car. There’s a clicking sound from the exhaust system, and it reminds you of the sound of frying onions when the snow and ice drops on it. You switch off the lights again, and you’re already longing for tomorrow, when you can take the white Lambo out for your next trip to the supermarket.
