Eccentrica Diablo Resto-Mod Front

The Lamborghini Diablo holds a special place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts. For those who grew up dreaming of this iconic supercar, it’s difficult to imagine how you could possibly improve upon perfection. However, Eccentrica has dared to take on this challenge, promising to resto-mod the Lamborghini Diablo and breathe new life into the iconic 90’s raging bull.  The results are nothing short of spectacular.

A Modern Take on an Icon

The Eccentrica Diablo is not a mere homage to the original but a modern interpretation that retains the timeless silhouette while adding a touch of exaggeration and thorough modernization. The changes are subtle yet impactful, with a longer wheelbase, shorter overhangs, and a wider body that give it a more aggressive, modern stance.

Exterior Enhancements

Up front, the Eccentrica Diablo features carbon-clad 6.0 VT energy, clean cuboidal intakes with 3D printed components, rectangular lights with LED internals, and SV-style NACA vents. The front fenders echo the Diablo GTR, with dramatic “Diablo horns” that jut upwards at the edges. The wheels pay homage to the one-make racer’s Speedlines, while carbon mirrors with integrated LED indicators add a touch of Murcielago flair. The overall design retains the original vents and windows but re-sculpts them, enhancing the car’s aerodynamics.

A Striking Top and Rear

The most significant changes can be found on the top and rear of the Eccentrica Diablo. Carbon intake plenums rise from the roof, reminiscent of the Veyron, while a new deck lid design exposes the engine for all to admire. The rear graphics, though familiar, have been completely reimagined with a 3D-printed titanium vent and four LED lights. The once prominent crash bumper has been replaced with a sleeker carbon piece, revealing more of the fan vents and the stunning exhaust, which draws inspiration from super bikes and the Diablo GTR.

Interior Transformation

Inside the Eccentrica Diablo, everything from the original Diablo is replaced with a modern touch. A sculpted dash hosts various buttons and a width-spanning air vent. The center console showcases a beautiful six-speed gated manual shifter and tactile controls. The overall interior design evokes an ’80s jet fighter aesthetic, aligning with Eccentrica’s vision of an “aviation-inspired” start-up procedure. The cabin is adorned with premium materials such as leather, alcantara, metals, and carbon-fiber, with a post-modern ’90s minimalistic touch.

Performance Upgrades

While the Eccentrica Diablo focuses primarily on aesthetics and modernization, it doesn’t neglect performance. The 5.7-liter V12 engine receives upgrades to boost power to 550PS (404kW) and torque to 600Nm (442lb ft). Enhanced brakes and Pirelli Trofeo R tires improve braking and traction, resulting in an estimated 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 208mph.

Limited Production

Only 19 Eccentrica Diablo restomods will be produced, with prices starting at a cool £1 million each ($1.2 Million USD). This limited production run ensures that each owner will possess a truly unique and exclusive masterpiece.

The Eccentrica Diablo is a bold reinterpretation of an automotive legend. It manages to pay homage to the original while boldly embracing modernity. Whether it’s an improvement on perfection or a departure from the original’s spirit is subjective, but one thing is certain – it’s a testament to Eccentrica’s respect and affection for Lamborghini’s ’90s pin-up. The Eccentrica Diablo is not just a resto-mod; it’s a work of automotive art that captures the essence of an era while pushing the boundaries of contemporary design and performance.  Don’t take our word for it, have a look for yourself.
