Chaparral’s Jim Hall On Engineering

This video features an interview with Jim Hall of Chaparral Cars about the process of engineering a racecar. It also offers some great footage of the various cars (and their aerodynamic technology) in action.

It’s interesting to hear Hall talk about the relationships between the people who make the cars and the people who drive them, and how those roles can overlap. It’s also interesting to hear his thoughts on the ways aerodynamics began to play a larger role in design. Plus, we always get a kick out of seeing those high wings go around the racetrack.
