New York 2013: Third-Gen Cadillac CTS Leaked

News I By Brandon Turkus I March 26, 2013
“Wow.” That’s been our reaction to the debut of two generations of Cadillac’s bread-and-butter sedan. It certainly seems like an appropriate response to the recently leaked third-generation model.

This new CTS borrows heavily from the ATS styling book (that’s not a bad thing). Its hood is impossibly long, with a short front overhang. While the overall look is more organic and smoother than the current CTS, the new model features sharp creases in the bodywork (particularly on the hood), giving the impression that the sheetmetal is stretched to its limit.

The headlights are very similar to what’s found on the ATS, although the tail has more in common with the XTS, being smoother and generally less aggressive. Inside, Cadillac’s CUE system is on full display, while the overall material quality looks to be up to the levels pioneered on the XTS and ATS.

We know the CTS will feature a 420-horsepower, biturbocharged V-6 as its top, non-V engine. We’re also planning on seeing the 2.0-liter turbo from the ATS in some capacity. There are other, unsubstantiated rumors, but we’ll be waiting to publish full details until the CTS makes its official debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show. Cadillac has officially unveiled the new CTS.
