Now’s your opportunity to acquire an ultra-rare BMW M1 (not to be confused with this one)! With only 400 made, we hardly see these come up for sale, and BaT has an auction running which ends on the 28th.
From the Bring a Trailer auction:
This 1980 BMW M1 is one of approximately 400 road-going examples built during two and a half years of production and was reportedly delivered new to Autohaus Hautmann of Cochem, Germany. It was imported to the US under previous ownership and reportedly spent 15 years in a collection in Massachusetts before it was displayed for several years at BMW of San Francisco. Power comes from a mid-mounted, fuel-injected 3,453cc M88/1 inline-six mated to a ZF five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and equipment includes black upholstery, ventilated disc brakes, staggered-width Campagnolo alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows, and a Becker Mexico cassette stereo. The car was purchased by the selling dealer in March 2022 and subsequently repainted orange in October 2022. This M1 is now offered with a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher, recent service records, and a clean Illinois title.
The sale will take place exclusively online through Sotheby’s Sealed, featuring the ultra-rare 1995 McLaren F1, distinguished by its one-off Creighton Brown color. Bidding opens…
