Rumors: Spy Shots—Three-Door MkVII Golf Spotted

News I By Doran Dal Pra I February 24, 2012
Spy photos of the next generation Volkwagen Golf have been flitting about the internet for quite some time now, but the cool hands over at Carscoop recently snapped the first photos of the three-door MkVII Golf doing some cold weather testing. It’s tough to determine exact styling with all the camo the car is wearing, but it will likely be nearly identical to its five-door brother.
Due out at the upcoming Paris Auto Show—which runs from September 29 to October 1, 2012—the new Golf will be underpinned by the VW Group’s new lightweight MQB architecture, and feature a 1.4-liter engine with cylinder deactivation. When it hits the road, the three-door Golf should be a solid Teutonic solution to the ever competitive and diverse small car enigma.
