Rumors: Model News — Lincoln To Debut Escape-Based Crossover?

News I By Brandon Turkus I December 20, 2012
If a report from The Detroit Bureau is to be believed, we’ll be seeing yet another Ford masquerading as a Lincoln. This time, Ford’s Escape will be getting the Lincoln treatment, and will be renamed MKC.

The Lincoln MKC will likely share powertrains with the Escape, but feature an overhauled interior designed to appeal to a wealthier customer. As much as we dislike badge engineering, the idea of the fun-to-drive Escape getting paired with a classier interior and a new exterior is certainly appealing (especially if it looks as handsome as the new MKZ).

We’ll be looking for the MKC in just a few weeks at the 2013 North American International Auto Show.
