Toyota will bring the Hybrid-R Concept to the Frankfurt Motor show. The Hybrid-R uses a current production car as a vehicle for a lot of the same technology from Toyota Racing’s TS030 LMP1 car.
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the C63 AMG Edition 507, which borrows some performance technology from the mighty SLS AMG.
While this may not look much different than a standard 5-Series, this happens to be a hybrid version in testing in Munich.
The three-door performance hatch’s 1.4-liter gasoline engine benefits from both a supercharger and a turbocharger, boosting throughout the rev range, and minimizing turbo lag (this is the same technology found in Europe’s MkV Golf GT). 178 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque are put to the wheels via a compact seven-speed DSG transmission.
