Maranello, 18 October 2019 – Ferrari Classiche Academy is underway. This series of driving courses focuses on various classic cars that helped to create the legend of the Prancing Horse and write the history of their era.
Recently, we brought you videos of a super cool replica of a classic car with the Factory Five Racing Shelby Cobra, and it set our hearts afire. Now, we bring you—courtesy of Multimedia Editor Chris Amos and the car’s owner, Jim—another beautiful replica, this one of a 1957 Porsche Speedster.
In the meantime, we’ve drawn up a list of what we think are the best BMWs for collectors in the here and now. We’ve got a wide range of vehicles here, with a variety of body types, along with prices and levels of availability. However, this list is hardly comprehensive. If there’s something that you think deserves to be on here (or something you think has no business here), then be sure to chime in down in the comments section. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
Folks who’ve been considering a Turbo Coupe purchase—especially those with some mechanical know-how—will find prices are surprisingly affordable, with fixer-uppers generally available for under $1000. Be warned though; while these cars have longevity and reliability on their side (more than a few TC owners attest to topping 200,000 miles with just basic maintenance), bringing one back from the dead can become a pricey endeavor.
