Winding Road Showroom: List & Win!

News I By Winding Road Staff I May 23, 2012
A few weeks back, Seyth posted a tutorial using Editorial Director Tom Martin’s 1968 Lotus Type 49 Exoto die cast model as an example of things you can sell in the Showroom. We got so many inquires about purchasing the model car that we decided to create a sweepstakes so everybody will have a chance to score this prized collector’s item. Read on for how to enter.

The Details:

Win an Exoto die cast model – 1968 Lotus Type 49, Graham Hill

This is a 1:18 die cast replica (actual length: 9 ¼ inches) of the Lotus Type 49 that Graham Hill drove to a second place finish behind teammate Jim Clark in the 1968 Grand Prix of South Africa.

This model originally retailed at $600, but you can no longer buy it because it has been retired by Exoto. The driver figure is included.

The Rules:

1. List an item in Showroom. You know the drill—this can be the car you have been meaning to sell, the racing gloves you don’t need anymore, the Gran Turismo game you’ve mastered—whatever you think your fellow car-crazy readers might be interested in purchasing. Each listing is considered an entry. This is a perfect excuse to clear out your garage.

(Need help listing an item? Check out Seyth’s tutorial here.)

2. For extra entries, upgrade a listing to one of our great promotional upgrades and you’ll have even more chances to win. Each upgrade counts as an extra entry for you to win. So that means if you decide to list those racing gloves in Showroom and also choose the Facebook post upgrade and Email Promotion, your name will be entered three times to win (plus you’ll finally sell those suckers. Win-win.)

IMPORTANT: You can only upgrade your listing BEFORE you check out. Once you check out, you will not be able to upgrade your listing after the fact.
Here are just a few of the Showroom upgrades we have available:

Featured Listing Upgrade

Winding Road Showroom Facebook post

Inclusion in the Winding Road Showroom weekly email

Winding Road magazine catalog listing (see example here)

…and more.

You’ll be able to pick and choose which upgrade you want once you create your basic listing. Again, remember that you can only upgrade before you check out. This Lotus model is pretty hot, so you want to make sure you can get as many chances to win as you can!

Contest ends: 12:59 p.m. CST, 6/20/12
