The Lexus enthusiast forum ClubLexus recently unearthed an interesting tidbit of information—the Japanese brand recently filed a trademark for the European and United States markets for the name RC F. It’s unclear what kind of car exactly the RC F will be, but if history tells us anything, this could be another addition to the Lexus’s asphalt-shredding “F” performance range.
Lexus trademarked the name RC 350 with the Australian Patent Office last November, and that car could become a new coupe based on the gorgeous LF-CC concept car shown at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and/or the LF-LC concept from the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. Extrapolate that information out—a potentially dangerous game to play, to be sure—and it seems Lexus could be preparing a new high powered coupe model with the RC F. A baby brother to the IS F sedan and the LFA supercar (albeit a more distant relative) makes for an tantalizing prospect. Stay tuned for more.
