Rumors: Industry Report — Saab To Relaunch In 2013?

News I By Brandon Turkus I November 21, 2012
Just when we were beginning to think the Saab story would end, Saab’s new owners, National Electric Vehicle Sweden, have announced that it could begin offering a gas-powered 9-3 in 2013, according to a report by Automotive News Europe.

The original plan had a re-launch of the Swedish brand set for 2014. It’s first offering would have been an electric vehicle. The relaunch of gas-powered 9-3s ahead of the 2014 date would generate additional capital for the brand and keep consumer awareness at or above current levels.

NEVS purchased Saab after its 2011 bankruptcy, and followed that announcement with plans for an EV version of the 9-3.
