If “Escalade” and “Sport” seem like an oxymoron, you may want to skip this video. But, if you are interested in luxury, space for crew and gear plus ample towing capacity, you may want to check this out.
With 8000 lb. max towing, the Escalade makes a reasonable car for racers and HPDE drivers who want to tow a car in an enclosed trailer. Also note that if you like diesels for their low-rev torque and more relaxed towing, you’ll both need and want to get a Duramax turbodiesel with 460 lb-ft of torque at 1500 rpm. The Sport trim shown here adds some nice styling touches as well as Magnetic Ride Control, LSD and Trailering Integration. AWD and the gas engine only shave about 500 lb off the towing, so you can pretty much buy the car as you like and do the same stuff.
Take a look at the video for an idea of the capacious interior space. This is still a body on frame vehicle, but Cadillac has done a lot to make it smooth, user friendly and less than hideous.
