Mazda3 Sedan Unofficially Unveiled
Waiting for a sedan to complement the hot, new Mazda3 range? Well, wait no longer (sort of). Shown on Top Gear’s Russian website, this sextet of images of the new Mazda3 sedan show us a car that is largely identical to the five-door hatch (except for being, you know, a sedan).
Really, nothing here is a huge surprise. The 3 range has always styled the hatch and sedan as closely as possible, and that isn’t likely to change with this third-generation car. The rear deck is rather short, while the bumper has seen a slight restyling. The taillights are largely the same, though.
The 3 has also been known to use the same powertrains regardless of body style, which means we can expect the same batch of four-cylinder engines and six-speed transmissions that we told you about last week. We’d also bet that the i-ELOOP regenerative braking system will be available for improved fuel sipping.
We’re expecting an official announcement from Mazda regarding the new 3 Sedan soon. That said, we shouldn’t expect pricing or detailed availability information for some time.
