ChumpCar Announces 2015 Calendar, Region Realignments
The powers that be for the ChumpCar World Series have announced their plans for the 2015 race season, and it contains more than 50 events throughout the year at tracks like Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock and Sebring International. Additionally, due to some IRS restrictions, ChumpCar has announced plans to continue racing activities in Canada by way of the ChumpCar Canada “club”. As they explain it, this design will still allow members from either side of the border to compete in each other’s events, though voting influence will be restricted to nationality. Most importantly, Uncle Sam is kept at bay and the series is allowed to continue operations more or less unaltered. The Chumps also spelled out some changes to the Central and Eastern region boundaries as well.
Tracks and areas north of New Jersey have now become integrated with the East Region, and the boundary between the Central and East Regions has now been moved slightly to the east. Here’s a look at the new region layout:
John Condren, Chairman of ChumpCar International, says that due to great feedback from racers in the 2014 season, additional sprint races have been added for 2015 as well as a few combined enduro and sprint events. Many of the sprints in the 2015 schedule will coincide with the brand new
ChampTruck World Series and the 2015 season will also include additional long-format endurance races with the
