Mercedes-Benz is set to make waves in the Performance SUV market with the highly anticipated unveiling of the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63S. This performance-oriented SUV showcases a new hybrid powertrain borrowed from the C63S sedan, promising an exhilarating driving experience. Good looking? Check. Powerful? Check. V8? No thanks – not needed.

AMG GLC 63S

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63S bids farewell to the twin-turbo V-8 engine that characterized its predecessor and welcomes a hybrid setup inspired by the C63S sedan. This remarkable powertrain combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, resulting in a jaw-dropping output of 671 horsepower and an impressive 752 pound-feet of torque. These figures represent a significant improvement over the previous V-8’s output, delivering over 200 additional horsepower to the AMG GLC 63S.

One notable feature of the AMG GLC 63S is its plug-in hybrid configuration, boasting a 6.1-kWh battery that enables power distribution to all four wheels. This allows for enhanced traction and stability, giving drivers full control of the SUV’s remarkable power. Furthermore, this hybrid system provides the GLC 63S with the ability to run solely on electric power, ensuring a more sustainable and efficient driving experience.

The AMG GLC 63S inherits the sleek and refined styling of the second-generation GLC-class, which was launched by Mercedes-Benz in 2023. This high-performance variant distinguishes itself with a range of AMG-specific features, such as an exclusive grille design and a modified bumper that reflects its sporty nature. The rear end of the GLC 63S boasts a prominent diffuser, four trapezoidal exhaust tips, and a roof-mounted spoiler, adding to its aggressive and aerodynamic appeal.

2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63S Seats

Stepping inside the GLC 63S, drivers will find a Nappa leather-clad AMG steering wheel which adds a touch of sophistication, while the seats are wrapped in Mercedes’ premium MB-Tex faux-leather. Sport seats and Nappa leather front seats with an embossed AMG logo in the headrests are available as optional upgrades. The interior features various AMG logos displayed on the floor mats, door sills, and pedals, underscoring the vehicle’s performance pedigree.

In terms of performance, the GLC 63S leaves no room for disappointment. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine comes equipped with an electric motor integrated into the turbocharger’s shaft, virtually eliminating turbo lag and delivering instant power. Additionally, the GLC 63S incorporates rear-wheel steering, enhancing its agility and maneuverability. The suspension system features an unequal-length control arm setup at each corner, combined with adaptive dampers and active roll stabilization, which works off a 48-volt electrical system to minimize body roll. Upgraded brakes further contribute to the vehicle’s exceptional handling and control.

As for pricing, details for the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63S have yet to be disclosed, given its release in the upcoming model year. However, due to the advanced and sophisticated powertrain, it is expected that the AMG GLC 63S will command a higher price than its predecessor. Anticipated to start in the mid-$80,000 range, this performance SUV will undoubtedly offer an unrivaled driving experience for those seeking the pinnacle of power, technology, and luxury.
