BMW recently invited us to Austin, Texas to drive the new M6 Gran Coupe through the winding roads of the Texas Hill Country and at the Circuit of The Americas. Willing, as we always are, to take one for the team, we accepted.
Understandably, the first thing we were stricken by upon being reunited with the new Ford Fusion was the same thing that caught our attention when it was first unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show: its outward appearance. The new grille gives the car a much more upscale vibe. It looks somewhat muscular, and the creases in the hood and character lines that run along the sides help give it this image. It definitely has a bit more flair than the outgoing model, yet it doesn’t seem overstated.
We at Winding Road and NextAutos are always eager to test the diesel offerings from global manufacturers and we were grinning with excitement when the folks at Bosch offered us the keys to a Mini Cooper with a 1.6-liter diesel engine. According to Bosch, this Mini will achieve fuel economy numbers in upwards of 50 miles per gallon, which will shame many hybrid offerings currently sold in the States.
