Now on the market for seven years, the GranTurismo has stood as Maserati’s halo car, and their only two-door model. While the GT has certainly been well received – and for good reason – there’s a strong argument to made that it’s starting to show its age. And it would appear that Maserati is also aware of that, as at this week’s Geneva Motor Show they unveiled the Alfieri Concept, a sport coupe which could very well be an early iteration of the next GranTurismo.
Mercedes-Benz has published pricing information on a pair of hotly anticipated AMG models. Starting AMG’s halo car, the SLS AMG Black Series, potential owners should be willing to shell out $275,000 for the most hardcore AMG model. Pricing on the C63 AMG Edition 507 starts at $70,000 for the sedan, while the two-door model will demand $72,500. Both models tack on an extra $925 for destination.
Audi has given its halo car, the R8, a significant refresh for 2013. Both the 4.2-liter V-8 and the 5.2-liter V-10 are soldiering on for remainder of the R8’s first generation, but we’ll be giving a sad (okay, it’s not sad at all) goodbye to Audi’s R-Tronic automatic transmission. In its place will be a new, seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
