Rumors: Spy Shots—2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK

The Arctic Circle really isn’t a place you would normally go for a leisurely drive, but if you are Mercedes-Benz and you need a place to do some cold weather testing with one of your prototypes, it just might be the perfect place. These spy shots from MotorAuthority reveal that Mercedes is already hard at work on its mid-sized 2015 GLK crossover.

 

While a refreshed GLK is already going to be rolling into showrooms sometime this fall, it’s clear that Mercedes isn’t sitting idly by. This test mule is most likely being tested with the 2015 car’s drivetrain, and it appears that the new GLK will also be larger than the current version—the prototype is sporting a longer hood and wheelbase, as well as a wider track. Expect a range of engine options on the 2015 GLK, including some version of the new 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel being introduced shortly in the 2013 GLK.
