Porsche 911 GT3 Continues Geneva Trend, Leaks Early (UPDATED)

News I By Brandon Turkus I March 04, 2013
The 2013 Geneva Motor Show may start tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean the deluge of leaked photos and information is going to stop any time soon.
Porsche has taken the wraps off of the 911 GT3. We have a full suite of images (in two different colors), along with all the performance information on Stuttgart’s newest 911 that can be accessed right here.
This is the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3, and like previous GT3s, it’s the stripped, lightweight, track-focused version of the 911 Carrera S. We don’t have actual specifications, but we can figure out a something big from the photos posted by VWVortex and Carsoops.
The big news is that this GT3 does not feature a manual transmission. The interior image clearly shows an automatic transmission lever, which will most likely control a super-fast version of Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch transmission. This gels with our previous Rumors posts on the GT3 and its gearbox. Whether there’ll be an manual trans option remains to be seen. Hopefully, we’ll find out tomorrow.
Otherwise, the aerodynamic tweaks, special wheels, and Alcantara-clad interior are pretty standard for a sportier Porsche. We’ll have full details very soon.
