Gear: Brunnhoelzl Jacks

Often, when it comes time to jack up a car, time is precious whether it’s during a pit stop or between race stages. Every garage, paddock, or race trailer needs a good jack (or several). It should be reliable and easy to use. Operation should be quick and smooth, with little room for error. If you want to race like a professional, you need to be able to work on your car like a professional, which is where Brunnhoelzl jacks come into play.

When choosing a jack, you need to keep a couple things in mind. First is ground clearance. The Warrior Jack needs a minimum of 3.5 inches to fit under the vehicle. Also, do you want to lift your car off the ground in three pumps or six? Six is standard for the Warrior, and easier to operate, but if you’ve got a very strong crewmember, you can choose the three-pump version. It requires a bit more effort to lift the car, but it can save precious moments during a pit stop.

It’s made from billet aluminum, so it’s tough enough to stand up to the rigors of the track, but is still light enough not to be unwieldy or difficult to use. The 48-inch chrome moly handle gives you maximum leverage when lifting your car off the ground. Minimum ground clearance is 3.5 inches, and the Pro Jack comes in a one-pump or three-pump version. Again, you can save time with fewer pumps to get the car off the ground, but if you opt for the one-pump jack, you’ll definitely want the beefiest member of your team to be the one handling it. Also, the jack can be customized to lift the car from 8 to 10.5 inches off the ground in that single pump. Most racers simply prefer the ease of use of the three-pump jack.

Is your racer especially at a premium for ground clearance? Get under your super-slick ground-hugger with the Brunnhoelzl Pro Series Flat Jack. It needs just 2.5 inches of clearance to work with. It has all the great quality, durability, and features of the standard Pro Series Jack, but with a lower lift plate.

 

Besides fitting under a car with an ultra-low chassis, the Flat Jack is also ideal for those times when your car has a flat tire. Despite losing the clearance the tire normally provides, the Flat Jack can still get between the car and the pavement to keep your pit stop quick and problem-free.
