Here we see Winding Road Team TFB driver Mason Filippi (#12, Shmib.com) in Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car race 2 from Mosport (May 21, 2017). That race started with light rain. The team sent Mason's BMW M235iR out on slicks, anticipating a drying track. That turned out to be the right call, and although Mason backed up to P12 in the first few wet laps, once the track began to dry, he put on a show moving from P12 to P1. Some of his competitors were on rain tires, which didn't work after the mid-point of the race. But others didn't find the grippy parts of the track as well as Mason did. In the end, Mason won the race by 25 seconds and set fast lap. Chief engineer Tim Barber had to keep reminding him to slow down.
