IndyCar Coming To Circuit Of The Americas?

News I By John Beltz Snyder I July 31, 2013
Executives at Circuit Of The Americas have resumed talks with IndyCar Series organizers about possibly hosting races at the new home of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

Racer reports that the track in Austin, Texas could possible host an IndyCar race as soon as next year, and that it seems as though COTA and IndyCar are working on nailing down a date.

COTA Executive Vice President Bruce Knox says they “don’t have anything to announce right now,” but admits that talks have been ongoing for several years between the two entities.

IndyCar currently holds two annual races in the state of Texas, at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, and Reliant Park in Houston. Whether a race at COTA would mean three races in the state, or if it would replace one of the other two races, is uncertain.
