The Brazilian Grand Prix is this weekend, and, as the end of the season approaches, a lot can hinge on this single race. Take, for instance, the Brazilian Grand Prix of 2008, the final event of that particularly close season, where the champion was decided in a final-lap upset.
In this video, Felipe Massa was set to become champion in his home country, when Lewis Hamilton was able to squeak past Timo Glock into fifth position at the last moment, giving him the points he needed to take home the drivers’ championship. It was a heartbreaking loss for Massa, as well as for his Brazilian fans there to see him.
Have a look at the historic final lap of 2008 in the video, which includes a bit of hairy driving on a rain-saturated track, as well as some gripping commentary.
