First Look: 2013 Scion iQ EV
The iQ EV joins Toyota’s RAV4 EV and Prius Plug-In Hybrid as the Japanese brand’s chargeable offerings. It only packs 63 horsepower, but torque is up to 120 pound-feet. Combine that with a 50 mile range and a three-hour charge time on a 240-volt plug, and it makes a fair bit of sense as a gas-free city car. It should hit 60 miles per hour in a leisurely 13.4 seconds, and will cover 30 to 50 miles per hour in nearly half that time. Top speed is 78 miles per hour.

Toyota has taken the wraps off of the smallest member of the Prius family, the Prius c. Set to make its official debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the c is expected to net 50 miles per gallon in city driving.

Toyota Reveals Entune Multimedia System
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Toyota has revealed its new multimedia interface system, Entune, which integrates five smartphone apps and voice recognition. Bing, iheartradio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable, and Pandora can be used without touching one’s phone, and the system is compatible with a wide array of mobile phones with data plans.
