Nissan has announced its Drive Electric Tour, spanning 26 cities in 20 states, that will offer consumers first-hand testing of the manufacturer’s all-electric Leaf plug-in. Each event offers consumers the opportunity to talk to Leaf product specialists about driving and owning the Leaf.
Soon after this hotly anticipated first drive of the 2012 Fisker Karma at the infield handling circuit of California Speedway, we met up with Fisker Automotive principals Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler on the floor at the recent Geneva Motor Show. We knew it wouldn’t be long before we’d see a plug-in version of the Toyota Prius, the world’s most well-known hybrid vehicle. Today, Toyota has officially launched the Prius Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) lease program, which will provide 600 examples of this car for testing in Japan, Europe, and the United States. These cars will be leased to commercial, government, and universities for testing on how PHEV vehicles exist in real-world use.
