Classic: Acura – Honda NSX

Honda started toying around with the idea of building a supercar in the early 1980s when it teamed up with famed Italian design house Pininfarina to present a concept called Honda Pininfarina Xperimental (HP-X) at the 1984 edition of the Turin Motor Show. Powered by a 2.0-liter V6 engine, the HP-X was merely a futuristic-looking design study that was never seriously considered for mass production but it showed Honda was already thinking beyond economy cars.

Geneva 2014: Maserati Alfieri Concept

Now on the market for seven years, the GranTurismo has stood as Maserati’s halo car, and their only two-door model. While the GT has certainly been well received – and for good reason – there’s a strong argument to made that it’s starting to show its age. And it would appear that Maserati is also aware of that, as at this week’s Geneva Motor Show they unveiled the Alfieri Concept, a sport coupe which could very well be an early iteration of the next GranTurismo.

BMW Unveils Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe At Villa d’Este

Outside of Ferrari, Pininfarina has designed cars for Peugeot, Jaguar, MG, and Alfa Romeo. This concept is the design house’s first collaboration with BMW, though. It’s called the Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe.

Ferrari Special Projects Creates P540 Superfast Aperta One-Off

The first example of Ferrari’s Special Projects program was the illustrious P4/5 Pininfarina designed and engineered exclusively for Jim Glickenhaus, which we had the chance to review way back in Issue 14 of Winding Road. The second car from Ferrari’s one-off engineering team is finally ready for the streets — the P540 Superfast Aperta, created exclusively for customer John Walson.
