If this car doesn’t make you just a little bit excited about rally racing, you should really check your pulse. The Ford Fiesta RS WRC is set to compete in the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, and will make its first competition appearance at Rally Sweden, starting on February 10. It’s already covered almost 1900 miles in testing, and will begin final gravel shakedowns this week in Spain.
If you are in the market for a top-notch grand tourer, odds are you’ve already considered Aston Martin’s DB9 and DBS, Ferrari’s California, 599 GTB, and 612 Scaglietti, Maserati’s aptly named GranTurismo, and Bentley’s Continental GT. If you are looking for something more subdued, might we recommend a stop at your local Mercedes-Benz dealership?
Chevrolet has taken the wraps off of the production version of the 2012 Chevrolet Aveo. The new model looks good, carrying over the attractive looks of the Aveo RS show car from the 2010 North American International Auto Show. We here at Winding Road have certain things we love. One of our primary objects of infatuation is the Audi R8. Regardless of V-8 or V-10, hardtop or Spyder, we are big fans of Audi’s halo car and its ability to switch between ho-hum daily driver and track-time cruise missile while costing considerably less than most mid-engined supercars. So naturally, we were excited when we heard about this car, the R8 GT.
When automakers come out with limited edition models, it may seem like the manufacturer is trying to stimulate sales for a slow-selling model. Porsche, however, doesn’t have slow-selling models, and when the Stuttgart-based manufacturer comes out with a limited edition, it is often considerably more than nice paint and badges. Such is the case with this limited edition 911, the Speedster.
Today, we received an odd email in our inbox from Lotus Cars, appearing to be an internal note (a likely story), but “accidentally” sent to media outlets. Within the email were some details about upcoming versions of the Evora, and its presence at the Paris Motor Show.
