Hyundai has announced that is beginning a crate engine program to sell its Lambda 3.8-liter V-6 and Theta 2.0-liter four-cylinder motors to the aftermarket. The engines, both of which currently power the Genesis Coupe, will be available beginning December 2013.
According to Hyundai’s twitter feed, we’ll be getting the souped-up Veloster that we’ve always wanted. Yes, there will be a turbocharged Veloster, and we’ll be seeing it first hand at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. Giving additional credence to this statement are three important initials at the end of the tweet–J, F, and K. That’s the tag of Hyundai’s CEO, John Krafcik
Recently, Hyundai gave up some of the details and a teaser image of the 2011 Sonata Hybrid. Today, at the New York Auto Show, the automaker revealed all the goods on its new fuel-efficient superstar.
Today in New York, Hyundai revealed the Sonata 2.0T, powered by a 274-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. If that doesn’t pique your interest, Hyundai also announced that it will get 34 miles per gallon on the highway.
