Audi celebrated its five-millionth A4 today in Ingolstadt. The milestone car that rolled off the line is a red A4 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro.
While the outgoing C6-generation Audi A6 made a significant splash at its start of sales in 2004, winning World Car Of The Year honors, the somewhat featureless exterior eventually blended into the woodwork. Worse, the car never really won any hardcore dynamics comparisons, not even in the limited-run RS6 treatments. All the same, that A6 was the best-selling car in that lucrative premium segment worldwide in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Audi has revealed its new closed-roof machine for the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours race, the R18. The company has also laid out its motorsport schedule for 2011.
This weekend, Audi announced the R8 GT, a lighter, more hardcore version of the R8 V10.
The new 2010 Audi S5 Cabriolet looks good from any angle. Even from the inside of the back seat with the soft-top snuggly closed. The room isn’t adequate for someone six-foot six, but that’s not the point. Viewed from this slightly cramped vantage, the fact that Audi attends to details in a most exhaustive manner seems abundantly clear.
