Chevrolet has finally released the official numbers for the upcoming Z06 Corvette, and they should ease those dismayed by Chevrolet’s assertion that, at least for the time being, the ZR1 variant is not in the cards and the Z06 would be the top spec offering of the Corvette. So, just how powerful is the supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V8 in the new Z06?

General Motors takes their Voltec plug-in hybrid technology – first seen in the Chevrolet Volt – upmarket with the Cadillac ELR coupe. With a full driving range of 340 miles between its 16.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack and 1.4-liter,gas-powered generator (or 37 miles on electricity only), the ELR offers an alternative to premium all-electric offerings like the Tesla Model S to buyers who’re concerned about range limitations and charging times.

Could the new Stingray even hope to live up to the mountain of hype that surrounded it? Well folks, there will be no M. Night Shyamalan-style plot twists here – the hype is in fact true, the new C7 Corvette Stingray is a truly fantastic sports car.

Chevrolet Volt Drops Significantly In Price
With lower-cost options entering the electric vehicle market, General Motors has slashed $5000 off the price of the Chevrolet Volt range-extended electric vehicle. The 2014 Volt will have a lowered MSRP of $34,995 (including destination charges). Factor in the $7500 tax credit, and the Volt’s entry price sinks to $27,495—which is a lot easier of a pill to swallow.

Ford Kills Australian Production
It’s a sad day for our friends down under. According to a story published in The Australian, the American brand that’s been building cars Down Under since the 1920s will cease production of Australian-specific models by October of 2016. The closure will result in the loss of 1200 jobs, although Ford would retain 1500 Australians for product development positions.
