WR TV: 2014 Lingenfelter Chevrolet Silverado Reaper

While we were out at Willow Springs for the MPG Track Days event we had a chance to take the Lingenfelter Reaper around a dirt course to check out the various modifications that the tuning company has made to the Silverado. Lingenfelter has designed the Reaper as something of an answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor, taking the already very capable Silverado Z71 and transforming it into a truly brawny pick-up for on and off-road duty.

WR TV: 2014 Chevrolet SS Street and Track POV Test Drives

Today we’re getting up close and personal with Chevrolet’s performance sedan, the SS. From a fundamental standpoint, the SS shares much its mechanicals with the gone but not forgotten Pontiac G8 GXP, a car which itself was largely derived from the Holden Commodore. Back in 2009 the G8 was heralded by many as “the poor man’s M5”, so considering the close lineage, the SS brings with it some high expectations.

Update: Official 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Performance Stats Are Incredible

When it comes to high performance news, the recent crowd favorite Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has been hogging a lot of headlines for the last few months – and for good reason. But while the Challenger makes for a great muscle car, if you’re looking for the most distilled high performance available, it’s more likely to be offered from a platform designed to be a sports car from the ground up. The Corvette C7 is such a platform. When GM announced that the new Z06 would be the most powerful GM production car ever produced, and that a new eight-speed automatic transmission that offered shifts as fast as Porsche’s PDK gearbox was going to be along for the ride, expectations were high. But to look at the performance figures revealed by General Motors today, it looks like they might not have been high enough.

Driven: 2014 Chrysler 300 SRT

Nearly a decade after the car first made waves when it was reintroduced for the 2005 model year, the 300 – and Chrysler’s LX platform as a whole – have earned their fair share of both praise and criticism. Due for a major refresh for 2015, we spent a week with the current car to see what works, what doesn’t, and what we’d like to see updated when the new 300 makes its debut later this year.

Classic: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Unveiled last January at the Detroit Motor Show, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been hailed as one of the most advanced sports cars ever manufactured by General Motors. While the technology it packs is the fruit of decades of research on and off the track, the origins of the Z06 name go back to 1957 when the American Manufacturers Association (AMA) instated a prohibition-like ban on factory-backed racing.

Chevrolet SS Priced At $44,470

Chevrolet has announced pricing on the highly anticipated SS sedan ahead of its on-sale date in late 2013. The single trim level (a departure for Chevy) starts at $44,470. That price is mildly misleading, though, as Chevy’s announcement indicated that the 6.2-liter, V-8-powered sedan will be subject to a Federal gas guzzler tax. The exact cost this adds hasn’t been determined yet.
