A turntable we love.
With plenty of visible carbon fiber and a conspicuously bright orange livery which accentuate the lines across the whole car: The Audi e-tron FE06 clearly appears even more aggressive than its predecessor.
This past week has seen a lot of action in motorsports, with a lot of manufacturers utilizing the Goodwood Festival of Speed as a means to get the word out about their upcoming racing plans. Here are three cars that have been announced, one of which has begun getting bolted together down under.
The 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed is happening July 4th through July 7th, so we thought it would be a good idea to share some vintage racing content that is especially cool: a mid-engine prototype Audi Group S rally car at Goodwood back in 2017.
There were a ton of great battles all-race-long, though this one in particular caught our eye: #4 and #29 Audi R8s duking it out through the menacing course while dealing with a lot of traffic.

Audi Sport Customer Racing has unveiled the Audi RS 3 LMS TCR DSG PWC for the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge series.
This week we’re at the helm of Audi’s mid-sized sports sedan, the A6. This particular model gets a zestier power train than the manual gearbox-equipped A5 coupe we recently tested, here powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 making 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, rather than the 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque generated by the turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder that powered the A5.
This week we’re at the helm of Audi’s answer to the BMW 4-Series, the A5. Unlike the top-spec RS5 we drove last year, this Audi coupe comes with a feature rarely found in modern Audis sold in the US – a manual gearbox.
This week we’ve got the keys to Audi’s latest small sports sedan. Coated in Sepang Blue paint and equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder motor that’s hooked to a six-speed dual clutch gearbox, the 3300 pound S3 is capable of getting from zero to sixty miles per hour in 4.9 seconds and boasts an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
Just a few short weeks after announcing the new series, Audi has a finalized race calendar for the Sport TT Cup. 165 drivers from 30 nations have applied for the new one-make series, with 18 slots to be permanently awarded by quattro GmbH in spring of 2015, and six other cockpits set to be filled by a rotating roster of guest drivers. The series will be held in conjunction with DTM events starting on the first weekend in May at the DTM opener at Hockenheim.
This week we’re behind the wheel of the Audi’s full sized luxury sedan, the refreshed-for-2015 A8, here in performance specification as the S8. The big Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system is an ideal fit for Michigan’s already wintery weather – so much so that we really couldn’t keep ourselves out of this Ingolstadt and decided to include a third night time drive video to see how the S8 fared in the snowy conditions with compromised visibility.
While the current batch of plug-in hybrids are seen as some of the most environmentally friendly vehicles on the road today, it’s tough to beat the environmental credentials of a hydrogen fuel cell car, whose emissions are just a few drops of water. Audi has gone a step further with the Audi A7 Sportback H-Tron Quattro Concept, adding an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be recharged via a power socket, giving the fuel cell vehicle even more flexibility. But perhaps even more intriguing is the fact that this one actually sounds fun to drive.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our recent stint with the R8 V10 Plus, we also noted that the first generation of Audi’s supercar was starting to show some signs that it was ready for a major update. With a new second-generation R8 due out next year that will share substantial portion of its underpinnings with the Lamborghini Huracán (much the way the current car shares tech with the Gallardo), Audi saw fit to give the first generation R8 a proper send-off in the form of the R8 V10 Competition – the most powerful production car in Audi’s history.
