In our discussion of our favorite vehicles from the Detroit Auto Show, we (keep in mind, who happen to be the type of people whose favorite Christmas movie is Die Hard) mentioned the stunning introduction of the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. Was it really as cool as we said it was?
Despite its protean unofficial release date, Gran Turismo 5 is taking steps toward completion, as evidenced by yet another batch of screenshots and a video, these depicting the Toyota FT-86 concept.

Like the Jeep Wrangler and Liberty, the Chrysler 300 gets some minor tweaks for the 2010 model year. The new 300S models, available with either the anemic 3.5-liter V-6 or boomy 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, add a bit of Mopar-like style to the big Chrysler sedan.
Even though Chrysler isn’t holding a press conference at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, that hasn’t stopped them from bringing a few new models along for all to see. And while there aren’t any all-new products, some new trim levels have been added to the lineup.
The original Audi e-tron made us smile. This new, rear-wheel-drive e-tron makes us squeal. The show car featured at this year’s Detroit show is smaller, lighter, faster, and the two electric motors only power the two back wheels.
Oh, the BMW Z4. Every time we see this car our hearts beat just a little bit faster. And while we find very little fault with BMW’s littlest offering, things are going to get even better later this year when the automaker launches the sDrive35is version.
There was an all-new stand on the main floor of the Detroit show this year, manned by an electric vehicles company from South Korea called CT&T. The whole executive team of the young company was on hand (and rather excited to be in Detroit, if the “thumbs up” picture in our gallery can be believed), making bold claims about intentions to storm the American market this year. Stay tuned.
This morning, amidst bright lights and a singer in an evening gown, Lincoln introduced the 2011 MKX. We’ve already shown you the photography from Lincoln, but here are some shots on the show floor.
If there’s one car on the Detroit show floor that really gets us all hot and bothered, it’s the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. It’s production-ready, super fast, and gloriously hot. We give it a round of applause.
Here in Detroit, Cadillac showed us its XTS Platinum two-mode hybrid concept vehicle.

As promised, here are those pictures of the shiny Volkswagen New Compact Coupe hybrid concept vehicle revealed at the Detroit show today.
Chevrolet’s Aveo RS had its introduction to the public today, much to the excitement of anyone who lusts after all things hot-hatch (our hands are raised). We’re guessing that the hotted up Aveo will, at the very least, be the best product to wear that badge, ever. At most, the RS looks as if it could be a real riot to drive. Fingers crossed.
We’re stoked about the Honda CR-Z hybrid. You can (and probably should), read about what could be the first affordable and good-to-drive hybrid, right here. We’ve also got some live-from-Cobo shots of the CR-Z in the attached gallery. Check ‘em out.
Honda has pulled the sheet off of the production version of its CR-Z hybrid coupe, and we can’t help liking what we see.
