WR TV: 2015 Volvo XC60 T6 Drive-E Platinum

Cars, Reviews I By Winding Road Staff I August 18, 2014
This week we’re taking a look at Volvo’s hot selling sporty crossover, which gets an updated powertrain lineup for 2015 to go along with last year’s visual refresh. That powertrain update brings the company’s new Drive-E engine family into the fold, which has a few interesting tricks up its sleeve.

Like the S60 and V60 we tested earlier this year, when outfitted with the T6 engine as our tester here is, the 2.0-liter four cylinder mill sports both turbocharging and supercharging, bringing output to 302 horsepower and 295lb-ft of torque – impressive numbers for that amount of displacement. The T6 is hooked up to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifting and manages to score fuel economy numbers of 22mpg in the city and 30mpg on the highway, or 25 combined.

Our Platinum-trimmed example also sports 20-inch "Titania" alloy wheels, two toned leather sport seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a price tag starting at $40,050. Let’s take a closer look inside and out, then go for a spin:
