While Supplies Last: Buy A Volkswagon Jetta For $5995 From Gilt.com

News I By Seyth Miersma I December 13, 2010

Online merchant Gilt.com and Volkswagen are teaming up this weekend to sell three, 2011 Volkswagon Jettas at a rather attractive discount price—Just $5995 per car. The price represents a ten thousand-dollar discount over the Jetta’s retail MSRP of $15,995.

Gilt, a members-only e-commerce site that generally focuses on clothing, accessories, and lifestyle products, offers deeply discounted prices for 36 hours per sale. These “flash sales” are announced to Gilt members via a daily email. Getting a solid bargain on a new trench coat or tie is one thing, but getting a brand new VW for the price of a five-year-old car (or there abouts) is quite another.

Of course, winning the privilege to buy the $6K Jetta isn’t likely to be easy, either. Only one car per day will be available for the period of December 15-17. On the first day the sale will only be accessible through Gilt mobile apps for iPad/iPhone and Android devices. The second two cars can be had via Gilt.com as well as through the apps. Remember, this is a members-only deal, so you’ll have to register with Gilt to have a shot at the car sale.

The three winning Jettas will be offered in a one-of-a-kind color called Gilt Gold. Even if you miss out on the $6K cars, VW will be offering Gilt members a special incentive for Jettas purchased at your local dealer.
