Winding Road Racing driver Jeff Sexton (#89, Mission Hill Advisors) shows a bevy of intelligent race craft in this Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car race at Circuit of the Americas. First, after being passed during the first lap standing start melee, Jeff leverages a battle between fellow MX-5 drivers Matthew Fassnacht, Elivan Goulart and Kenny Murillo. He reels them in to make the race a four-way battle.
Next, Jeff is in the right place at the right time as a single out-of-class car takes our first Goulart and then Fassnacht (and almost Sexton). This puts Jeff in P2, where is has a multi-lap battle with Scion driver Daniel Williams. Jeff carefully chooses his lines to defend against the Scion's superior straight-line speed. The result: middle step on the podium and Champagne dinner!
